This 2011 body of work represents an important turning point in Minseok Kang's painting journey. Through silkscreen and mixed media, it explores the themes of competition, beginning, and challenge. The beginning is frightening, and the outcome is opaque — yet he moves forward nonetheless. The moment things begin is life itself. This series expresses the starting point of competition that modern individuals face, and the inner tension within it, through the form of the automobile.
