Stray Racer

I am a racer who has lost the way. My direction is gone, but I do not stop. Speed still pushes me forward, and on the road I have lost, I discover a new version of myself. In the Stray Racer series I capture the journey of wandering and self-discovery experienced by a being without a destination. A racer driving without a map or compass symbolizes the anxiety and confusion of modern individuals. Yet what I find within that wandering is not fear, but the true face of the self. With the thick texture of mixed media and dynamic brushwork I express the liberated energy within being lost. The fragmented form of the automobile visualizes the ongoing process of identity through deconstruction and reconstruction.
